Salary to GBP: 60,000 per annum plus bonus and excellent benefits package

Our client is a growing asset finance company offering funding solutions to SME companies. They are looking for a credit manager to underwrite asset finance transactions, including deal structuring, credit assessment and recommendation of deals outside of their delegated authority and completion of credit reviews.

Responsibilities:

- Undertake credit assessment of proposals within agreed risk appetite, policy and delegated authority framework
- Ensure credit assessment is appropriate and highlights the key risks whilst operating within agreed service level standards
- Review, analyse and make recommendations to the head of credit, asset finance and/or transaction credit committee for proposals outside of delegated authority
- Be accountable for the quality of the asset finance portfolio within delegated authority
- Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and customers
- Wherever possible, structure proposals to meet the needs of the company and the customers/brokers
- Support the management team with the implementation of policies
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams and collaboratively with all other functions across the company
- Undertake credit and portfolio reviews where required
- Operate at all times within the relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks

Experience:

- Significant experience of underwriting hard assets within the asset finance market
- Expertise of underwriting hard assets within own delegated authority
- A track record of working directly with finance brokers within asset finance
- Previous experience in recoveries management is desirable, preferably within an asset finance environment
- Previous involvement of underwriting within the ‘tier 2 & 3` segments of the asset finance market is advantageous
- Specialist knowledge of the hard asset finance market
- Specialist knowledge of the processes relating to underwriting hard assets
- Detailed understanding of SME/corporate customer cash flows
- Robust and broad commercial acumen
