Description

Our client a long established structured finance specialist which provides a unique offering of structuring, arranging and Residual Value Risk financing to the UK Mid & Large ticket asset finance market.

The business currently has a vacancy for a Business Development Manager to accelerate an exciting phase of the businesses development.  

Through its financial choice approach our client provides whole of market mid and long-term financing options and support to its clients by way of leasing, hire purchase, receivables and structured debt facilities for their capital expenditure programs.

The role will report to the partners of the business and work independently , home based as necessary , and as part of a team in all aspects of originating and executing medium to high value structured and vanilla asset finance transactions.

Your role will involve sourcing and working closely with new clients and external financiers in structuring (where appropriate) and preparing term sheets, obtaining approvals and executing transactions with the support of a team.

This will require high quality consistent dialogue with all parties both internal and external to ensure income levels are met and client expectations are exceeded.

 
Key responsibilities will encompass :

  • Sourcing and delivering good quality clients from self-sourced contacts and continuing new business origination typically for deal sizes of £500,000 + in size to achieve volume and margin requirements.
  • Sourcing and delivering asset finance solutions and transactions to exceed client expectations and deliver consistent levels of fee income.
  • Support the delivery of both sophisticated and vanilla asset finance structures to meet the needs of clients.
  • Working as a team to ensure the continued successful growth of the our client.
  • Overseeing and managing both internal and external stakeholder requirements to ensure that objectives are aligned between clients and funders.

Whilst the role is a wholly new business one our client have a CRM system and have invested time in establishing a database of potential prospects where those prospects have a turnover of over £10m and new assets of £5m.

 

Candidate Profile

 

We are seeking experienced middle ticket asset finance business developers who have the ability and confidence to prospect business for deal sizes of £500,000 + in sizes and can deliver ideally £200,000 of first year income from self sourced prospecting.

We are happy to share details of the attractive quarterly paid commission plan and typical margins being achieved by our client with suitably qualified applicants.

Our client are flexible regarding your asset class experience and focus and also fairly flexible your route to gaining access to customers.

As they are themselves in effect a boutique financier who typically places transactions with a panel of funders but do note , one that does have the ability invest RV’s in the assets they can finance they are not though seeking particularly to source introductions from lease brokers.

The primary anticipated route to customers is therefore expected to be either direct with customers or via professional introducers , introductions via dealers , manufacturers etc are also considered attractive providing you have direct access to the client to negotiate and close the transaction. Flow sales aid type programmes where you do not have customer contact are not therefore of interest.

Our client are flexible regarding your location as remote access to systems is provided.

What is key here is trust if you are a self managing and hard working and are good communicator who is active and successful in establishing a pipeline you can probably expect , if not local to their offices for our clients to comfortable with you working from home and to only have to visit our clients head office infrequently.
