Coming next week: Provocations

Provocations is a new podcast from the Fionance & Leasing Association ("FLA"), hosted by award-winning broadcaster Nihal Arthanayake and starting next week (w/c 12 October).

Across six episodes, to be released fortnightly, leading voices from finance, business, regulation and economics take on some of the biggest questions about lending and the economy. Among the FLA’s guests this season are: 

• Catherine L Mann, External Member, Monetary Policy Committee, Bank of England 

• Alison Walters, Director, Consumer Finance, Financial Conduct Authority 

• Dhara Vyas, CEO, Energy UK 

• Vicky Pryce, Chief Economic Adviser, Centre for Economics and Business Research 

The six provocations are:

The Economy: Has the economy changed faster than the lending system? 

Access to Finance: Are we helping people, or just getting better at labelling them? 

Energy: Who should take the risk of the energy transition? 

Assets: Are we financing the assets of the past or the economy of the future? 

Technology: Is technology revolutionising lending or reinforcing its blind spots? 

The Future: If we built the lending system today, what would we do differently? 

Shanika Amarasekara MBE, Chief Executive Officer of the FLA, will be joining Vicky Pryce for that final episode which will be a great roundup of the Provocations season.
